Kansas National Guard Hampered In Rescue Efforts Because Of Iraq
The tragedy from Friday’s tornadoes in Kansas and nearby states is evident for all to see. Adding insult to injury are the rhetorical responses from the White House, and the administration’s role in complicating the rescue and recovery efforts due to Bush’s occupation of Iraq. So much debris is piled up that FEMA can’t get into the town to set up temporary housing and water systems. And why can’t FEMA still figure out how to do its job, and why can’t the Kansas National Guard do theirs? Because [...]
Let’s get this straight. They can’t round up enough National Guard troops to help a little town that’s been wiped off the face of the earth, but they can plan to hundreds (maybe thousands) of them on standby for the GOP Convention in Minneapolis?
