Nothing But Politics

December 22, 2007 · No Comments

And the White House may be neck-deep in this latest excursion into political dirty tricks. Nice.

Evidence Mounts Of White House Ties To New Hampshire Phone Jamming Scheme

On the morning of election day 2002, repeated hang-up calls assaulted six phone lines tied to the New Hampshire Democratic Party. Three Republican operatives, including consultant Allen Raymond, eventually ended up in jail for their involvement in the phone jamming scheme. A fourth, former RNC offical James Tobin, will begin a second trial in February. In [...]

Too Bad

December 22, 2007 · No Comments

The bad guys came in last. I hate to classify FEMA that way, but they’ve really done little to shake the impression that they don’t know what they’re doing.

FEMA Ranks Lowest In Public Approval

The Federal Emergency Management Agency has yet to shake its poor reputation, more than two years after its mishandling of Hurricane Katrina, a poll shows. Closing in On Christmas

December 22, 2007 · No Comments

Well, it’s the Saturday before Christmas. I have, so far, managed to avoid the mob scene at any of the area malls. That raises my spirits as much as anything. We’ll be doing dual meals and celebrations to accommodate the schedules of both kids. One set tonight and tomorrow. Another on the “real” Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. My goal is to laugh a lot, share some stories, eat some (a lot) of good food and make some memories. Gifts? As I told them all, there’s really nothing I want or need.

We finally (yes, I am embarrassed to admit that we’re this late) got the needed Christmas decoration out, just in time to start thinking about packing them away in a week or two. We always end up running way late on the front side, so ours tend to stay up a bit longer than most folks.

Enjoy your time with friends and family. Cherish the moments together. Life will return to normal soon enough.

I’m looking forward to a very busy 2008. That’s a great thing, since it’ll keep me out of trouble - doing my regular job and helping a couple of friends get an interesting new project off the ground. You’ll find it linked over on the right. It’s all about politics, voters and the power of video.

Merry Christmas!!

Hugh’s List

December 22, 2007 · No Comments

It’s a huge one. Listing all the Bush scandals. This, my good friends, if fodder for many holiday discussions/arguments/fights with family. Pick one a day. You’ll need a year to get through, more if you take weekends off!

The List of Bush Of Scandals — 60 Ft. Long and Growing

Hugh’s List has been getting some additional exposure lately and I wanted to take a moment to celebrate that and spread the word. It will also soon be available on the radio. Look out Howard Stern, Hugh’s List is [...]
