With a big “T”. In the Clinton camp.
Inside Clinton Camp — Donors Panicking, Advisers Fault Penn
The scope of Barack Obama’s victory in Iowa has shaken the Clinton machine down to its bolts. Donors are panicking. The campaign has been making a round of calls to reassure notoriously fickle “superdelegates” — elected officials and party regulars who are awarded convention spots by virtue of their titles and positions — who might be reconsidering their decisions to back the candidate who formerly looked like a sure winner. And internally, a round of recriminations is [...]

Bill-o shows he’s no punk. Not for anybody. Especially not somebody from the Obama camp.
Out-of-control O’Reilly gets aggressive with Obama staffer
It’s clear watching his show that Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly thinks he’s above such things as social norms, but I didn’t realize he’d go this far. Fox News host Bill O’Reilly got into a confrontation with an Obama aide after O’Reilly started screaming at him as he tried to get Barack Obama’s attention following a rally [...]
As long as we’re talking about Fox News…
Neil Cavuto, Fox’s “business news” anchor, signed off today (January 4, 2008) with an announcement. He said his weekday show “will be back” on Sunday, live, for a, “two hour bloc that’s looking at the economic implications of the Iowa vote and what could come ahead in the days comin’ up.” Cavuto then tossed to John Gibson (host of the Big Head’s Story). He said he’d be live too [....]

Woke up this morning, coughing and sneezing. So, I took some medicine and crawled back into bed, deciding the errands were better handled when I felt better. Wall to wall New Hampshire politics on the cable newsers. I stuck with MSNBC much of the time, passing by CNN and Fox News every once in a while. The latter two were doing a better job covering the big storms out west, but MSNBC seemed to have the New Hampshire story covered from all aspects.
They brought in Joe and Mika from “Morning Joe” and used them, Live from New Hampshire, for some analysis. I’m really liking the chemistry they seem to have. A couple of the Fox anchors really bothered me. I don’t watch that net very frequently, so I can’t say if they were regular anchors, or just subs. Seems unlikely that they’d use subs on a big news weekend, with the NH primary just around the corner.
With all of that in mind, I give you a few random links:
I have a headcold and feel like crap, but I want to say that Mike Huckabee’s band sucks. Yesterday he had a rally somewhere in New Hampshire. He was operating on one hour’s sleep, so he had his band set up and knock out some tunes to warm up the room and give himself a jolt of adrenaline. The set was not brief. They opened with In the Midnight Hour, a song, for obvious reasons, more appropriate as an encore. Huck was thumping out the bass line but his amp [...]
Clinton, Edwards eye avenues of attack against Obama
Because of the compressed calendar, there are just five short days between the Iowa caucuses and the New Hampshire primary, which poses a challenge for Hillary Clinton’s and John Edwards’ campaigns: how to blunt Barack Obama’s post-Iowa momentum quickly. Tom Edsall offers a look at the chosen avenues of attack. Upon her arrival in New Hampshire [...]
Countdown: GOP’s Problems With Huckabee
David Sirota has catalogued just how petrified the GOP punditocracy is of Republican presidential contender Mike Huckabee’s populist rhetoric, especially now that it appears to have *gasp* appeal to Republican voters. And he was right, because they’re now on the attack: “On Friday’s Countdown, Keith spoke [...]
I ran across this piece below a while ago and was impressed with Joe Biden’s candor with the media about the media and the state of the ‘08 race. It’s something that Stuart has mentioned here frequently in recent weeks and I’m glad to see Biden speaking up and ripping the media on making this [...]
And, finally, one to make you chuckle: Robertson: ‘I’m Not Sure I Heard From The Lord,’ ‘If I Did, I Hope I Heard Wrong’
Earlier this week, Christian broadcaster Pat Robertson said God told him who will win the 2008 presidential election. “He told me some things about the election, but I’m not going to say,” he said. Last night, Robertson appeared on Hannity and Colmes. When asked by Alan Colmes whether God had spoken to him about the election [...]

Ready for some behind-the-scenes dirt? Steve Clemons has been getting his hands dirty to product a mightily interesting post..
This is interesting news. I have worked through the campaigns today — and while I don’t have all the detail on which campaigns did what exact back deals, I know that the Hillary Clinton campaign approached every single one of the others. Her emissaries approached Biden, Dodd, Richardson, and Kucinich — and all of them turned her down. They all cut arrangements with Obama or Edwards. Another bit of news that I received — and I’ll be honest — it confuses me. . .is that [...]

They’re going to have it down to 0.5% before long. Can we do negative interest rates? I’d like some of THAT!!
Pressure Mounts For Fed To Make Big Rate Cut
With unemployment rising to 5 percent in December and jobs growth coming in well below forecasts, economists said the Federal Reserve may be forced to slash interest rates when it meets later this month in order to stave off a recession. In another step to combat the slowing economy, the Fed also announced Friday that [...]

The story surrounding the death of former Pakistan Prime Minister Bhutto just keep getting stranger and stranger. Most of the unique reports are coming from overseas media. This is really getting into tinfoil hat area…
BBC Censored Benazir Bhutto’s Reports that Bin Laden Had Been Murdered
When a news organization as venerable as the BBC censors the reportage of a story as important as the assassination of Benzir Bhutto –a highly visible critic of Bush/British policy with regard to the “War on Terrorism” et al –it is fair to ask: who is the BBC protecting? Are they covering up the motive for her murder? Are they protecting [...]
