Don’t ya’ think? From right down the road, it’s Mississippi-style law…

Another Nifong

Another reminder that our system ultimately relies upon the good judgment and good faith of prosecutors — and some just don’t seem to have any of it at all. “Over the weekend, Mississippi Attorney General Jim Hood announced that 51-year-old [...]

Strange aircraft, UFO’s, Black Helicopters, the list goes on and on. But, you’ll have to admit, it’s one strange and fascinating story.

More twists in the Stephensville UFO witness saga

There Are Problems

If you’re a Hillary Clinton supporter, you’re riding through some rough times. For some pundits, times are so bad that they’ve already written off the campaign. I think it’s a bit early for that, but, it’s not good in Clintonville.

In Focus: The Hillary Implosion

After a lousy weekend for Team Hillary, the media is spinning a new election narrative: Obama will probably win the Democratic nomination. Michael Weiss has a round-up of opinions on why the former front-runner’s success is no longer a foregone conclusion [...]

Finally. I guess it took a lot of “arm twisting” to get some of them to spill the beans. Cynics might say something about — shshh — torture and waterboarding.

The big question is: What have they done in Congress to fix the problem?

Nancy Pelosi: The Surge Has Failed

Pelosi joins Carl Levin and tells it like it is: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said twice Sunday that Iraq “is a failure,” adding that President Bush’s troop surge has “not produced the desired effect.” “The purpose of the surge was to create a secure time for the government of Iraq to make the political change to bring reconciliation to Iraq,” Pelosi said on CNN’s “Late Edition.” “They have not done [...]

Snow Reveals ‘80 Percent’ Of Bush’s Advisers Opposed Iraq Surge

Huge Amount Of Immigrants To Get Permanent Residency Without Completed Background Checks

In a major policy shift aimed at reducing a ballooning immigration backlog, the Department of Homeland Security is preparing to grant permanent residency to tens of thousands of applicants before the FBI completes a required background check. Not Counting The Vote

February 11, 2008 · Leave a Comment

We mentioned this story last night, (it’s just a couple of posts down the page) but it got bigger and badder as Monday progressed. Simply put, something stinks in Washington state. Huckabee has a right to scream. And scream loudly.

Vote-counting mischief in Washington’s GOP primary?

By Saturday night, John McCain had already experienced a pretty rough day. He’d been trounced by Mike Huckabee in the Kansas caucuses, and then learned he’d been beaten handily in Louisiana GOP primary. In Washington state, which was supposed to be a far easier win for the Arizona senator, McCain was trailing Huckabee for part [...]

UPDATE: Some bloggers have dug up some writings from the GOP Chair’s college days. Helps explain things. It really does.

Esser on Voter Suppression

It seems like Washington state GOP chair Luke Esser and his friends are still plugging away trying to get “as close as we can to 100 percent” of the votes counted in Saturday’s caucus. But it seems like Esser isn’t [...]

Travel Tips

Right now, given the poor state of the dollar, it’s darn cheap for Europeans to visit the United States. Our government wants to make it tougher for them to do that. What? Yes, indeed…

Soon you’ll be able to roll a bowling ball down Broadway without hitting anything

Go into midtown Manhattan on any nice spring day, or stroll over to Fifth Avenue. Good luck getting through the mobs of tourists, many of them European. And if you have a business that caters to these tourists, enjoy it while you can. Because who on earth would want to travel to a country that does this: “The US administration is pressing the 27 governments of the European Union to sign up for a range of new security measures for transatlantic travel, including [...]

Another Smackdown

February 11, 2008 · Leave a Comment

The truth ultimately comes out, in spite of the drastic attempts to keep it hidden. We have another outstand example coming out of Washington tonight.

Why deal with bad news when one can bury it?

Towards the end of 2003 about nine months after the U.S. invaded Iraq, the Army commissioned the RAND Corporation, a federally financed research center, to conduct a detailed study of the planning for post-war Iraq. In the summer of 2005, after 18 months of careful research, RAND reported back, including an unclassified version that the [...]

Already. Shortest weekend. Ever. And, I have no explanation for where the hours went, except to note that I fell asleep on the couch at 9 pm last night. I must have done SOMETHING to cause a collapse that early!

We’re going to kick things off tonight with some thoughts on the Clinton campaign, looking at other female leaders around the world. Booman Tribune has some extensive research and a detailed analysis.

Food for Thought on Clinton’s Campaign

After my post yesterday (and the comments it generated) asking Clinton supporters to make their case for her nomination, I decided to peruse the internet to see what other arguments there might be for nominating her, or not, as the Democratic candidate this Fall. That is, other than those made by her supporters in that thread, and other than those that point to flaws, ambiguities, concerns, etc. regarding Obama. And I managed to find something that was new to me, which I thought I’d pass along for your consideration this [... ]
