KBR Ignored Warnings Of Unsafe Electrical Wiring That Led To Deaths Of U.S. Troops

In March, House Oversight Committee chairman Henry Waxman (D-CA) announced that he was investigating the accidental electrocution of troops in Iraq and pressed Defense Secretary Robert Gates for uncensored details on at least a dozen deaths since 2003. Contractor KBR is at the center of the probe, with questions about whether it irresponsibly ignored [...]

The Day Winds Down

It’s been a busy one.  And, Sunday, the kids are all coming over for dinner. Gotta take advantage of the time to get everybody together before our son and  his wife make us grandparents!

There are a few interesting things out on the blogs tonight, including this about Don Siegelman that has some fascinating new information.

“Sometimes Paranoia’s Just Having all the Facts”

Ah, yes. It’s the great part about this time of year around here – fresh fruits and veggies from the Farmers’ Markets.  We hit both of them this morning, the new one on the north side of the river (where we live) and the long-lived one over on the south side. Now, on to the serious stuff.   Is this crazy, or what?

Typical Saturday

At least Arkansas has a sunny and dry day to get the cleanup underway after yesterday’s tornadoes.  Our immediate area got lots of rain and wind, but no seriously severe weather.  So, we’re headed for the Farmers’ Markets (we have TWO of them now!) and then face the usual tasks.  So, without bad weather to keep me inside, there won’t be a lot of blog traffic today.  Enjoy the day!
