Do it. Right now. Malloy is great. As is Larisa

Mike Malloy reads my Bush appeasement essay

As a writer, I sometimes have a difficult time reacting to my own work once it is written, because all of the emotion is spent in the writing of it. I have to somehow see the work through a reader’s eyes to react – afresh – to my own emotions at the time of writing a particular piece. Mike Malloy’s reading of my essay on Bush’s comments [...]

Hanging Rush Out To Dry

Ooops.  He’d better do some big time back-peddling on this one, come Monday’s show!

Limbaugh Burned By The Google: Uses 10th Grader’s Essay To Attack Obama

It’s no secret that the right STILL hasn’t figured out how to effectively use the internets, so it comes as no surprise that the Grand Poobah of right wing radio douche bags, Rush Limbaugh, has made a complete fool of himself by using a 12 year old essay by a 10th grader to attack Democratic [...]

Hmmm.

Oh, this won’t be good for Obama. IF (and it’s a BIG “if”) it’s true. This could be why Clinton is hanging in there.  This could be the bombshell she’s counting on.

Who Wants to Be the Next Millionaire?

Here’s the news short and sweet–if you have a copy of the Michelle Obama video, in which she is lambasting white people (four different sources say she uses “whitey” as an epithet) at Jeremiah Wright’s church, then there is an ultra conservative Republican billionaire who wants to pay your $1 million dollars for the tape. [...]

Have Some Fun

May 17, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I’ve been saving these links for some time now. It’s a good Saturday Night to let you have them. Both are from BlondeSense, a blog well worth watching.

How did we ever…?

TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED the 1930’s 40’s, 50’s, 60’s and 70’s !! “First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they were pregnant. They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn’t get tested for diabetes. Then after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby cribs covered with bright colored [...]

Now, Time To Relax

From Father Tyme…In a mellow mood… A few somethings to help the world go away…at least for a little while. Kick out the grand kids; lock the door; light the candles; grab two chilled glasses of wine; turn down the lights; the two of you get comfy on the couch;and pretend it’s long ago [...]

Fauxtography in Texas

Looks like someone got a little … uh … over-zealous with Photoshop in a yearbook for McKinney High School in Dallas: Students’ photos altered in McKinney yearbook. “Imagine posing for a yearbook photo and ending up with someone else’s body – or looking nude – in the final product. Yearbook photos for 583 McKinney High School students were altered by a national photography company. The yearbooks were [...]

Promises, promises. Edwards got them before he dropped out.

Edwards Secured Private Commitment From Obama That He’d Go On Poverty Tour As Nominee

Before dropping out of the presidential race, John Edwards secured a private commitment from Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton that they’d undertake a poverty tour during the general election as the Democratic nominee, according to multiple sources familiar with the [...]

It’s Just Got To Hurt

May 17, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Hagee can’t stay connected at the hip to John McCain without it beginning to hurt the campaign. And, now, you have Lieberman trying to fix it (I guess), but only causing more harm.  McCain’s people can’t be this blind, can they?

Lieberman defends radical McCain ally John Hagee

I can appreciate the fact that Joe Lieberman has finished off the McCain Kool Aid. I also realize Lieberman is completely on board with everything McCain says, does, and believes, and will defend the Republican presidential campaign against any charge, regardless of merit. But I’m a little surprised Lieberman is willing to go so far as [...]

Saturday Discussion Fodder

Toss this one out for discussion the next time your family is together (maybe around the dinner table) and see how many would even consider giving it all up. Everything. I don’t think we could.

Bad Joke Saturday

May 17, 2008 · Leave a Comment

We’ve got ourselves a winner of a day around these parts! Sunshine.  80 degrees.  Farmers’ Markets occupy most of our Saturday morning time. So be it. There are worse things we could be doing.

Like cracking jokes about guns.  And a presidential candidate.  Who would do that, you might ask? Our very own – Mike Huckabee. Indeed.

Huckabee makes joke about assassinating Obama

These people are sick. What does John McCain have to say about this? And spare me the, “Huckabee didn’t mean it” crap. I know a few things about guns, and you don’t point guns at people unless you mean to shoot them. So when Huckabee is talking about someone pointing a gun at Obama, that’s [...]

UPDATE: Huckabee issued an apology, saying the noise interrupted his speech and he tried to make an off-the-cuff remark. He didn’t mean to offend anyone, he says.
