Did you realize the deadline to implement it had passed? This is a powerful example of how states can stand up to the Federal Government. And, today, they got some justification.

Real ID, Great for Spying on Americans, Not So Great for Protecting Us from Terrorist Attack

May 11, 2008 was the deadline for implementation of the Real ID Act. So far, not one state is in compliance and some states are openly defiant. The Real ID Act would turn our state issued driver’s licenses into de facto national identity cards.
